Welcome to Hazelwood!

Dr. Palpu Hazel served the valley for over 40 years as a psychiatrist. As he retired, a synchronicity of events brought him together with Chyllia, who started working side-by-side with him to support his patients through the transition. It seemed like one of those things that was just meant to be. There was certainly some divine guidance at play as things fell into place. 

Chyllia chose the name Hazelwood Mental Health to honor the legacy that Dr. Hazel created, but it is also a name that has personal meaning. Chyllia's great grandmother, Hazel Dixon, was a strong family figure who held stories of loved ones close to her heart. Grandma Hazel loved family gatherings and would whisper proudly to her husband "look at what we've created" as they watched their kids, grandkids, and great grandkids gather together.

Dr. Hazel's patients adore him not just for his medical knowledge but also for the genuine care and wisdom he imparts during each session. The influence of Dr. Hazel and Hazel Dixon will continue to inspire and gently hold those who visit Hazelwood Mental Health.

We wish Dr. Hazel the best in retirement and hope he spends some time sitting back and looking at all he has created.
